Lincoln Park Zoo Bird Walk

  • Lincoln Park Zoo 2400 North Cannon Drive Chicago, IL, 60614 United States (map)

Location: Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago

Date: Monday, 5/25/26

Time: 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Join COS for an afternoon bird outing at Lincoln Park Zoo. The park’s Nature Boardwalk is an excellent example of restoring native habitats in urban environments. We will also be searching for migratory bird species such as flycatchers, vireos, and warblers. We will then visit the Black-crowned Night Heron breeding colony where–at this time of year–the nests are well-occupied by nesting pairs in the dozens. All ages–including families–and experience levels are welcome to attend. Loaner binoculars will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. This trip is designed to be a slow-paced, social bird outing. The total trip distance will be about 1.5 miles.

Leaders: Sammy Cabindol

Pre-registration is required. Please contact Sammy Cabindol (wildlifesammy@gmail.com) at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend or with questions.

Restrooms are available at the zoo.
