Bird Friendly Design Community Outreach

A Bird-Friendly Design ordinance will soon come before the Chicago Zoning Committee, and then on to a full city council vote.

Bird Friendly Chicago and COS, in their efforts to ensure the ordinance passes, is looking for volunteers to assist with community outreach.

After a brief informational session about where the ordinance currently stands, we’ll discuss our current needs and sign up volunteers to take on tasks. Tasks may include:

  • Ward research (businesses, events, organizations)

  • Correspondence with community businesses and organizations

  • Correspondence and planning with community and event organizers

  • Correspondence with the Chicago Park District, park supervisors, and/or Park Advisory councils

  • Attending tabling events in wards and parks

  • Pick up educational and promotional materials from Bird Friendly Chicago and distribute to businesses and organizations

All who have the capacity to volunteer this fall are welcome to join us for this virtual meeting, but to attend you must register.
