Explore one of the great hotspots of southwest Cook County on this walk of 2.8 miles, featuring water, open land, scrub, and wooded habitat. The skies can have raptors, the water can have waterfowl and marsh birds, and there could be various breeding birds, including orioles, sparrows, kingbirds, and more. Let's just see what's there!

Accessibility:
Total trip distance is approximately 2.8 miles and will take place mostly on unpaved trails that are relatively level with minimal incline. Any recent rain may create muddy conditions.
Weather/Attire/Other:
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Please bring bottled water. Dress for the weather. Based on the forecast, you may want to bring a hat and sunscreen. Ticks can be expected here. Long pants and insect repellent are recommended.
The exact meeting location will be emailed in advance to registrants. Parking is available at the Sag Valley Equestrian Parking at 131st St. between Bell Rd. and Will Cook Rd. The location is not readily available by public transportation.
