Join COS for a bird walk at Thatcher Woods Forest Preserve. This 245-acre hotspot packs diverse habitats including floodplain forest, savanna, and prairie. We will walk roughly 1 mile in search of migratory songbirds including flycatchers and warblers. Birders of all experience levels and ages are welcome to attend. Loaner binoculars will be available.

Accessibility:
This trip is designed to be a slow-paced, social bird walk. Total trip distance is approximately 1 mile. Most of the trip will take place on mostly relatively flat grass and natural dirt terrain prone to muddy conditions with recurring occasional trail obstacles including root heave and holes. Dress for the weather and wear sensible shoes. Restrooms and water fountains are available inside the field house building. Cell reception is regularly available.

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Please bring bottled water. Dress for the weather. Loaner binoculars will be available.
The exact meeting location will be emailed in advance to registrants. Free parking is available at the parking lot. The location is accessible by public transit via the Pace Bus 309 and 313 and Metra UP-W at River Forest.
