Join COS for a sunrise birding trip at Jackson Park. This urban hotspot draws birds and birders from all over for the park’s beautiful landscape. We will learn about Chicago’s resident and migratory bird species during this time of year. Birders of all ages and experience levels are welcome to attend

Pre-registration is required. Please contact Sammy Cabindol (wildlifesammy@gmail.com) at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend or with questions.

We will walk a roughly 2-mile loop that is relatively flat. Walking will take place on mostly asphalt, grass, and/or dirt substrates prone to muddy conditions and occasional obstacles including uneven terrain, roots, and holes. Dress for the weather. Cell reception is regularly available. Loaner binoculars will be available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Restrooms are unavailable.

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Please bring bottled water. Dress for the weather. Loaner binoculars will be available.

The exact meeting location will be emailed in advance to registrants. Free and metered parking is available near the meeting point. Jackson Park is accessible by public transit via the Metra Electric (59th Street Station) and CTA bus (routes 6, 15, 28, and 55).
