Location: Cranberry Slough, Willow Springs, IL 60480
Date: Sunday, 1/4/2026
Time: 8 AM - 11 AM
This is a 2.5-mile walk that will focus on local species, especially our resident woodpeckers. There is a fairly high likelihood that participants will be able to experience Downy, Hairy, Red-bellied, Red-headed, and possibly even Pileated Woodpeckers all in one trip. The goal of this trip will simply be to enjoy a walk in one of Cook County's most beautiful forest preserves and simply see whatever we can see.
