COS is excited to partner with the Chicago Park District to conduct a morning of hawk watching for the first time at Northerly Island! Join us as we take advantage of the park's panoramic views of Chicago's lakefront to observe the spectacle of raptor migration.
Beginning birders welcome. Loaner binoculars will be available.

Accessibility:
Total trip distance is approximately 0.3 miles. This trip requires walking a short distance on a paved path to the vantage point atop one of the park's hills. From there, the rest of the trip is stationary. Unless you plan to stand for over an hour, it is highly recommended that you bring something to sit on. Any recent rain may create muddy conditions. Bathrooms will be available at the park field house.
Weather/Attire/Other:
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Dress for the weather and in layers. Based on the forecast, you may want to bring a hat and sunscreen and a light jacket. Please bring bottled water. Loaner binoculars will be available. If you have one, bringing your own lawn chair is highly recommended.
Metered parking lots are available. Public transit to site is available via bus route number 146.
