Birds & Bytes: The Peregrines of Rockford

A Year of the Peregrine Falcon program

Virtual Program

In 2018, two intrepid Peregrine Falcons made history by scraping a nest on a Rockford, IL high rise overlooking the Rock River. The two birds quickly became media darlings and built a dynasty, perhaps in no small part due to their choice of nesting location, the HQ of the largest news outlet in town. Over the years, a dynasty has been built as generations of peregrines have returned and captured the hearts of Rockford residents. In 2020, Rockford declared the Peregrine Falcon the official city bird, cementing their legacy in city and peregrine history. Join us as we hear from Jennifer Kuroda on how these birds took Rockford by storm.

All are welcome to attend this free event but RSVP is required.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
