Birds & Bytes: Decline and Recovery of the Illinois Peregrines

A Year of the Peregrine Falcon program

Virtual Program

Once on the Endangered Species List and extirpated entirely in Illinois from 1951 until 1986, the recovery of the Peregrine Falcon population has been so successful it is now above historic levels. Join Mary Hennen, Director of the Chicago Peregrine Program, as she takes us through the recovery of the Peregrine Falcon in Illinois and what it means to live in close proximity to this remarkable and now primarily urban bird.

All are welcome to attend this free event but RSVP is required.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

About our Speaker:
Mary Hennen is the Director of the Chicago Peregrine Program and Assistant Collections Manager of birds at the Field Museum of Natural History. For more information on Illinois Peregrines, be sure to check out the Illinois Peregrine Website and follow them on Facebook!
