Environmental Justice for Puffins

  • Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum 2430 North Cannon Drive Chicago, IL, 60614 United States (map)

Hybrid virtual/in person program

Join us for the second lecture of the 2023 Compelling Voices season!

Everyone who has ever seen a puffin falls in love with them. If nature lovers truly care about the mounting threats to them and whether they’ll be around for our grandchildren and great-grandchildren, then they must also care about those families living with environmental justice, including southeast Chicago. The destiny of a beautiful bird is directly bonded to dumped-on families. They are bonded to the speed we curb the fossil emissions that scorch the planet and sear the lungs.

All are welcome to attend this free event but RSVP is required.

In order to make this event accessible to as many attendees as possible, attendees will have the option to either attend in person at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum or remotely via Zoom. Please indicate your preference via the registration form. In-person attendees will also have the option to purchase drinks beginning at 6pm, program begins at 6:30pm.

This program is possible through partnership with Chicago Audubon, Lake-Cook Audubon, Illinois Audubon Society, and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.
