Dan Ryan Woods Bird Walk

  • Dan Ryan Woods Chicago, IL United States (map)

Join COS at the Dan Ryan Woods for a kid-friendly bird walk! This trip will welcome birders of all experience levels, and will involve some activities geared towards younger birders. Mid-September is a great time to try and view as many migrating songbirds as possible in one of Chicagoland's most under-birded forests. We will also be looking for migrating and resident raptors.

Families will be welcome to let children explore the newer Nature Play Garden. Binoculars will be available for those who don't have them. Feel free to bring snacks and beverages! Port-o-potties will also be accessible.

Leader: Jake Vinsel

You must RSVP in advance. Pre-registration is required for the bird walk. Please contact Jake (vinsel.jake@gmail.com) or aerin tedesco (aerintedesco@gmail.com) at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend or with questions.

Safety Instructions:
- In order to attend you must be FULLY VACCINATED.
- Please bring a face mask with you. You may be asked to wear it as needed by the trip leader.

Meet in the parking lot off of 87th street near the nature play garden
