Meet at the north end of the 31st Street pay parking lot east of Lake Shore Drive at 7:00 a.m.

Join members of the Chicago Ornithological Society and Sierra Club Chicago Group for the latest in this joint series of beginning bird and nature walks.

This walk will start in the prairie just south of McCormick Place to check for early morning migrant birds, especially around the lovely limestone pool. We will head south along the lake shore to check for migrant birds on or over the water as well as for birds in the grasslands, groves and scrubby habitat. Nelson’s Sparrows are not uncommon in these prairies at this time. There may also be migrating Monarch Butterflies and various species of dragonflies.

The Chicago Park Nature Tours also are a great opportunity to learn more about Sierra Club and Chicago Ornithological Society and each group’s local and national conservation activities and field trips.

Meet at the north end of the 31st Street pay parking lot east of Lake Shore Drive at 7:00 a.m. The parking ticket machines take quarters or credit cards.
