Tour Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary and the wonderful beach dunes natural area. In addition to seeing many migrant and nesting birds and cool native plants, we may spot a coyote, a beaver or local foxes. Bring binoculars if you have them. There are a few pairs to borrow.

BEACH SWEEP
We’ll begin our first clean-up of the year of Montrose Beach, Chicago’s largest and wildest beach. Sierra Club Chicago Group has been cleaning this beach twice a year for 20 years. Our efforts are important to
keep trash and pollutants out of Lake Michigan and to keep this natural area safe for humans and wildlife. Equipment, snacks and water will be provided.

DIRECTIONS:
Meet on the east side of the boathouse at Montrose Beach at 9:00 a.m. for the bird walk. Parking is free and bike racks are provided at the beach house. It is a 10 – 15 minute walk to Montrose Beach house from the bus
stops at Montrose and Marine Drive.

Aerin Tedesco will lead the trip for COS.
