Park 566 Bird Walk

Come join us as we look for early Spring migrants at this rapidly changing park. We'll be looking for open country birds and early sparrows. We'll take some time to scope the lake for migrating ducks and recently arrived Horned Grebes. Plus, there's always a chance we'll run into a Short-eared Owl (or four!).

Time: 7:00 am - approx. 9:30 am (join for as much or as little as you like)
Difficulty: Low, Walking distance of about 2 miles.
Leader: Carl Giometti (Dan Lory, co-leader)

Meet at the gate. The best place to park is along Lakeshore Drive (see image below) Wear sturdy boots, we will likely encounter some mud. Binoculars at a minimum (we will have pairs you can borrow) A scope will be helpful for scanning the lake but not necessary. Dress warm! This site is exposed and winds can often be harsh. Note, there are no bathroom facilities at park 566.

Registration is recommended but not mandatory - Registering is the only way to ensure that you receive a checklist of birds observed at this event.
