Paul Douglas Forest Preserve Bird Walk

  • Grassy Ridge Meadow at Paul Douglas Forest Preserve (map)

Explore Paul Douglas Forest Preserve.  Species we may see include Grasshopper Sparrow, Savannah Sparrow, Yellow-headed Blackbird, Eastern Meadowlark, Sandhill Crane and Bobolink, among other nesting birds.  We will also check out the heron rookery to see if there are still some birds present.

Please be sure to wear long pants tucked into sock because there ticks.  Also, waterproof footwear is recommended.

We will meet in the parking lot. There is a sign that says "Grassy Ridge Meadow"-- this is the correct place to meet, so don't be confused.  (You may want to use this name to search GPS programs if Paul Douglas Forest Preserve does not come up)
