Tree of Life: Presentation by Dr. Shannon Hackett

  • Sulzer Regional Library 4455 North Lincoln Avenue Chicago, IL, 60625 United States (map)

Have you ever wondered about your ancestors or your close relatives? Dr. Shannon Hackett, Associate Curator and Head of the Bird Division of the Zoology Department at the Field Museum, has been tackling this question, but from an avian perspective.  Her research on the Tree of Life of birds has produced some shockers, such as grebes and flamingos are each others’ closest relatives and Darwin’s Finches are not finches

Dr. Hackett will be discussing some of the startling revelations of her research on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Sulzer Regional Library, 4455 N. Lincoln, Chicago, Illinois.  Please join us and learn about some fascinating twists and turns in avian evolution!
