Have you ever wondered about your ancestors or your close relatives? Dr. Shannon Hackett, Associate Curator and Head of the Bird Division of the Zoology Department at the Field Museum, has been tackling this question, but from an avian perspective.  Her research on the Tree of Life of birds has produced some shockers, such as grebes and flamingos are each others’ closest relatives and Darwin’s Finches are not finches.
