Thanks to Dave Willard and the Field Museum for hosting COS this past Saturday. Sixteen participants were treated to up close views of some of the largest (Wandering Albatross, Harpy Eagle), smallest (Bee Hummingbird), and strangest (a number of Birds of Paradise) birds that nature has to offer.

And as if we haven't all seen enough Snowy Owls this winter, we were treated to a several drawers worth of them, and a couple of mounted specimens (the Great Gray Owl just sitting out on a table was pretty nice as well).

Dave also helped educate us all as to the importance of collections in general, and of the museum's collections specifically.

Thanks again to COS, Dave Willard and the Field Museum for hosting this trip!
