North Pond Bird Walks

Regular weekly walks emphasize the waves of bird migration that Chicago experiences throughout the spring. They're a great way to see what birds have stopped en route to nesting grounds up north. Make your own day! See lots of warblers, tanagers, orioles and grosbeaks before work or school! Well-behaved kids who like birds and their parents (if they are well-behaved) are very welcome. Bring binoculars and dress for the weather. The walks start at 7:00am and usually last 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Participants can easily depart earlier than the end of the walk if their morning schedules require it.
