Southern Illinois Weekend - June 19-21

Keith McMullen has once again generously offered to lead a COS
trip in Southern Illinois. Keith is available the weekend of June 19 – 21.
We generally stay in Marion Illinois and bird the surrounding areas
including Pomona/Cave Creek, Trail of Tears State Forest, Pine Hills, Tower
Island near Grand Tower (MO and IL), East Cape Girardeau (rice/crayfish
fields), Rose Farms/Grassey Slough in Johnson County, Feryne Clyffe State
Park, Mermet Lake and Heron Pond.

Birding highlights typically include approximately 110 species including
Northern Parula, Yellow-Throated, Cerulean, Prothonotary, worm-eating, and
Kentucky warblers, Louisiana Waterthrush, blue grosbeaks, and Mississippi
Kite.
